From farmgate to defining a new category in functional beverages

 

Gingerbug is Canada's first wild fermented ginger beer. The inventors of this business came to me with a audacious idea and a cool recipe from their farm gate business. Differentiating this new category (NOT a kombucha - and NOT a ginger beer soda) was the challenge as well as of course creating a brand identity that included packaging that would ‘pop’ on the shelf. From the original bottled (healthy pop) product to now three flavours in cans – Gingerbug is on its way to create preference and healthy guts in a wild new category in Canada.
